New Accommodation Unveiled in Birmingham
5th September 2011: A new 656-bed student complex has been opened in Birmingham this week, ready for the new academic year. The £40 million project will provide accommodation for international students, and UK students, attending universities and colleges in the city of Birmingham, including the huge University of Birmingham.
The halls were jointly developed by two property companies- Cosmopolitan Student Homes and Iliad Group. The former already has thousands of rooms throughout the country, providing student accommodation for some of the top universities in the UK. As well as Manchester student homes, the company offers places in Liverpool, Preston and Bradford.
The new complex is thoroughly modern, with reduced carbon admissions in mind, as well as affordable accommodation for the students. It has been an overwhelming success so far, completed on schedule and in budget, with every room booked for the coming year.
New Halls in Reading Completed Early
5th September 2011: A new 604-bedroom student accommodation block has been completed in Reading. The £22.5 million project has seen seven multi-storey buildings created at Mansfield Hall to house to be used as both UK and international student accommodation. After more than 200,000 man hours, the project has been completed ahead of schedule thanks to the partnership between Mansell property developers and Unite Group.
The latter are student accommodation experts, with thousands of rooms of student accommodation in London, providing housing for top London universities. Mansell were quick to point out that the expertise of Unite in the market helped them successfully complete this ambitious project. Indeed, Mansell's Regional Managing Director, Andy Duff, said:
"Working with Unite has proven to be a very successful partnership that has enabled us to deliver a very high quality, well-designed community on time where students want to live. This development raises the bar again for university accommodation in Reading."
