Criminology Graduate - Home based

Home based role (but need to be Kent based).  Joining a charity who have been recognised as a top 100 employer to work for by Best Companies.  With great benefits (such as 30 days annual leave plus bank hols).

You will be managing a volunteer service, which support ex-offenders once they are released from prison.  Your volunteers will meet with clients in prison (just before they are released) and then spend 4 hours per week meeting them in the community to help support them upon release for up to 6 months.  Currently there is a team of 8 volunteers, and they are looking to double this.

You will be responsible for:

Training volunteers
Recruiting volunteers, which could include reaching out to universities or other charities.
Managing new referrals and allocating to volunteers (whilst doing a risk assessment
Develop relationships with prison and probation staff

Please apply via this advert.  Everyone gets a response (and can also request further feedback). If you would like to talk to someone first before applying, feel free to call the office and ask for Jess (number on the Red 5 People website).

The charity is open to a range of backgrounds that could include people who have worked as a Probation Officer, Police Officer, Resettlement Worker, Employment Advisor, HR Officer, Recruitment Consultant, Offender Manager, or a criminology graduate who might have supervised a project or team before.  It’s a great chance for people looking to take their first step into a more senior role.  Ideally some experience or demonstrable interest in criminal justice would be great.

Please note you must be a driver, as you will be expected to travel around Kent visiting prisons / volunteers as part of the role
