Who are we looking for?
We have an excellent opportunity for motivated and enthusiastic graduates to join our two-year graduate scheme, where you will spend 80% of your time developing both your general work-related skills and professional qualifications, with 20% of your working time dedicated to graduate training and development. UKAEA has a nurturing community that learns from each other.
Within the 20% training and development, there is a core suite of activities designed to develop your professional and business skills. Elements of this programme are flexible and can be tailored to your personal development needs and to those of your specific job role.
What opportunities does the graduate scheme cover?
The business areas that we are looking to hire into cover the below specialisms, along with an insight into the types of exciting work / projects you could be involved in:
* Procurement and supply chain management
Working in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, providing procurement guidance, support, advice and delivery. Completion of projects, tenders and market engagement activities in line with the Public Contract Regulations.
* Finance
Checking and issuing sales invoices to customers, preparing accounts submissions to BEIS (our sponsoring government department), preparing and submitting all UKAEA’s tax returns, recording assets and reporting and monitoring spend on them.
* Management accounting
Helping the business make sense of the numbers through planning, budgeting and forecasting, financial reporting, working closely with our internal stakeholders, annual budget setting and reporting on financial performance vs budgets and forecasts.
* Construction project management
Working with a range of stakeholders from project teams, sub-contrators, suppliers, councils and many more you will support the growth and construction of exciting new buildings at UKAEA through all of the RIBA stages for construction projects. It will include liaising with design teams, making site visits and inspections, preparing briefs for investigations, surveys and monitoring
