Finance Graduate Role
Elevation Accountancy & Finance are excited to be currently working with a key client based in the Selby Area as they look to appoint an experienced & driven Financial Accounts Assistant to join their busy finance function!
This is a varied and exciting role where the successful candidate will assist with the timely and accurate production of monthly financial reporting, ensuring compliance with all relevant accounting standards and Group accounting and control policies & would be the perfect move for an enthusiastic finance professional or recent graduate who has a keen desire to learn and develop a career in Finance. My client is looking for someone that will bring energy and enthusiasm to the role, aspires to develop strong accounting knowledge and build good working relationships across the organisation.
Duties & Responsibilities will include:
* Assisting with the smooth-running of the month-end close process, including the posting of specific manual journals
* Assisting with the preparation of financial reporting, including the submission of monthly management reporting packs and the annual statutory accounts
* Assists with ensuring the financial control framework, accounting policies, estimates and judgements are compliant with Group policies
* Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations
* Preparation of VAT and CCL returns and assisting the Group Tax department with Corporation Tax and other regulatory submissions
* Assisting with accounting and tax-related queries
* Awareness and adherence to the financial control framework
* Other ad-hoc duties as required to support business unit finance team and the wider Group Financial Control team
* Organises own work and priorities to meet short-term deadlines
* Interacts with colleagues and has an awareness of related activities
To be successful for this role you MUST have the following attributes:
* Educated to degree (Accounting & Finance, Economics or Mathematics) level would be advantageous, although not essential
* Ability to meet demanding deadlines and manage multiple ongoing tasks
* Comfortable dealing with numbers
* Attention to detail
* High level of personal integrity and professionalism
* An excellent team player
* Good communication, time management and organisational skills
* MS Office skills, especially Excel
* Confident and self-motivated with a flexible approach to work
