Role: Signal Processing Software Engineer
Location: Oxford
Salary: £27k - £35k pa depending upon experience

The Role
Working as part of a small team you will be undertaking projects to develop new capabilities in our systems. You will receive direction and guidance but will be expected to take ownership of your projects and the day-to-day organisation of your own activities, coordinating with others where required.
You will typically be required to lead your projects through a lifecycle of requirements capture, design, development, integration, and test, possibly with elements of agile prototyping and experimentation.
The role involves not just coding but also the design and definition of the system element that you are developing and its interfaces to the wider system. Often this is as part of a signal processing chain that converts raw sensor output to an actionable system output. Our signal processing is based on a combination of classical and machine-learning approaches.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a small team at the start of a new phase of product development and to develop your skills and level of responsibility rapidly.
About you
You must have:
A 1st Class degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Physics or similar.
Excellent English and an ability to write clear and well-structured documents
A systematic and analytical approach to problem solving
A solid grounding in either C/C++ or Python
Good mathematical skills
The ability to manage your own activities to achieve goals and to work with others in a team
A structured and rigorous approach to your work
A practical and common-sense approach to tackling engineering problems and making things work
The ability to obtain UK security clearanceA Masters or other higher-level qualification with a significant component in signal processing, image processing, computer vision or machine learning would be beneficial.
Knowledge and experience in any the following would be beneficial:
Software development in C, C++ and Python
Source code management using Git
Software development on Windows 10 and Linux
Embedded Software development for System-on-Chip devices including Zynq
Signal Processing, Image Processing and Computer Vision
Machine Learning
Radiometry
Package
Salary £27k - £35k pa depending upon experience
