Graduate Design Engineer

GRADUATE DESIGN ENGINEER (Placement or Graduate)
Location: London

J Reddington is the Civil and Structural direct delivery construction arm of the JRL group. We have an in house team, capable of the design and build of: PT slabs, piling, deep basements, drainage, civils and structural RC and steel frames. We work both in the external market for key clients and for Midgard on internal self-delivered projects.

Due to continued growth, we are recruiting a Graduate Design Engineer.

JRL currently have a position available within our busy design team for an Assistant Design Engineer. This is of one year duration and we are seeking candidates in Civil or Structural Engineering courses who are about to embark on their placement/sandwich year. One of the key features of the role is to undertake 4D construction sequences involving concrete structures, groundwork and formwork systems.

Role & Responsibilities:

* Undertake the design of concrete structures, groundwork and formwork systems
* Produce workshop drawings for concrete structures, groundwork support and formwork support systems
* Value engineering
* Evaluate Revit projects and families for integration to Navisworks Simulate according to job specific programmes
* Virtual construction of surrounding infrastructure and detailed areas for logistic purposes
* Produce 4D construction sequences for tender purposes using Navisworks
* Produce tender presentation documentation
* Liaise with clients and all members of the design team
* May need to travel to JRL sites throughout UK

Requirements:

* Civil Engineering or Construction related degree qualified would be ideal.
* Applicants should be in the process of completing a third level qualification in civil or structural engineering
* Expected to have a good working knowledge of 3D software especially Revit and Navisworks
* Ability to perform under pressure and work to tight deadlines
* Excellent verbal and communication skills
* Must be able to work as part of a team but use own initiative to complete tasks
