London Hostels

When you first arrive to study in a new country it can be difficult to find your feet. Booking your accommodation in a hostel for the first couple of nights is a great idea. You'll meet new people, have access to knowledgeable staff that know the area and you might even hook up with other students looking for more permanent accommodation.

HostelBookers.com offer hostels all over London. Whether you're looking for a hostel with its own bar, somewhere close to transport links or even a bit of British history. Just for starters here are the pick of their top 3 London hostels for atmosphere, location and design!

Clink 78 for atmosphere

Clink

The Clink 78 is one of the best hostels in London for atmosphere... they even have their own bar. It was an old courthouse so you get a piece of British history thrown in too! If you opt to stay in one of their private rooms you'll be bunking down in an old cell. It doesn't get much quirkier that that. They have a pool table, huge TV room and Wi-Fi. You can catch the Piccadilly line straight into the centre of town or a local bus. Make sure you buy an oyster card to get to all the London sites and avoid paying tourist transport fares.

Pride of Paddington for great location

Paddington

Stay at Pride of Paddington if you want easy access to central London and Paddington train station. They are only 5 minutes from Hyde Park so in the summer you can take a stroll and have a lovely picnic next to the outdoor lido. Alternatively there's a great pub downstairs in case the British weather lets you down. 8 bed and 6 dorm beds are available with shared bathroom. They even throw in a free breakfast!

Palmers Lodge-Swiss Cottage for design

Swiss CottageIf you're looking for a bit of traditional London then stay at this Victorian grade II listed building. It was the former home of Samuel Palmer of the Huntley and Palmers Biscuit Empire, one of the first truly global brands. The hostel is close to Swiss Cottage tube station which is on the Jubilee line and will take you directly into central London. Or if you fancy some down time then just head straight down to the bar. They have a huge variety of different sized rooms from a large 28 bed dorm down to a private room with en-suite.
