Beckham's Newborn Daughter Named Harper Seven

David and Victoria Beckham have announced the birth of their first daughter and have revealed the (unsurprisingly) unusual name that they have chosen for her: Harper Seven Beckham.

The birth of the couple's fourth child took place yesterday by Caesarean at a Los Angeles hospital and followers of David's Facebook page were the first to find out the details, after the former England captain wrote:

"I am so proud and excited to announce the birth of our daughter Harper Seven Beckham. She weighed a healthy 7lbs 10oz and arrived at 7.55 this morning, here in LA. Victoria is doing really well and her brothers are delighted to have a baby sister xx."

An Odd Choice of Name?

The rather unusual choice of name is in keeping with the names of the other Beckham children- Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz, and there are already plenty of rumours about where they got the inspiration for Harper Seven. Seven was always David's shirt number of choice when he was younger, so maybe he already sees a bright future in women's football for little Harper!
