So Real it's Scary News
LG's latest marketing tool is a clever blend of comedy and trickery, to celebrate the picture quality of its TV displays, the South Korean electronics firm released a video which deceives members of the public into thinking that they are in a very precarious situation.
As unsuspecting people walk into a lift (that has been rigged by their tech team) they assume they are in a normal environment, while the viewer knows that something isn't quite right. The hidden cameras then record the drama that unfolds in the lift, as a simulation is played of the bottom of the lift collapsing.
It's a great effect and those in the lift are left shocked and confused as they are pranked LG style!
YouTube Comments Are Critical
The video has been slowly rising through various streams following the days after it was launched, Mashable blogged about the video on the 22nd October, this will surely see it reach millions of views as a result.
Despite its growing success, YouTube users are sceptical of the video, claiming that a green screen was used to add the image on the lift rather than using live LG monitors, Reddit has also been active in critiquing the video.
